CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS for STUDENTS

I.   Behavior

 

               1.  Students are responsible for maintaining conduct, which respects the rights, property, and opinions of all individuals.

               2.  Students are responsible for their actions during class.

               3.  Students will not disrupt the learning process in any way. . . i.e. eating, chewing gum, speaking out, class lateness, etc.

 

II. Attendance

 

               1.  Students are responsible for regular school attendance, to report to class on time, and to make up work missed due to class absence or tardiness.

               2.  Students will be given three (3) days to make up assignments missed due to an excused class absence and at least one (1) additional day for each excused class absence after the first day absent. Please refer to "Attendance" in your Student Handbook.

               3.  Students must have a valid pass for a class tardy or early dismissal and are responsible for all work missed while out of the classroom.

 

Ill. Educational Materials

 

               1.  Students are responsible for the proper care of all educational materials used in class.

               2.  Students-are responsible for any damage to school property. This includes desks, textbooks, calculators, templates, rulers, compasses, protractors, computers, etc.

               3.  Students are responsible to maintain a notebook based on the given class notes.

               4.  Students are encouraged to use a calculator. Calculators are provided during class time.

 

IV. Classroom Participation

 

               1.  Students are responsible for participation in classroom activities and for completing assigned work.

               2.  Students are responsible for participating in-group activities and for putting homework problems on the chalkboard during class.



V.  Classroom Rules

               1.  Students are responsible to follow all rules outlined in the Student Handbook.

               2.  Students are responsible to be prepared for class. You must bring your textbook, your 3-ringed notebook, and a pencil(s) to every class and will NOT be allowed to leave the room for any of these items! Please do not use red ink for your assignments.

               3.  Students will wait to be called upon before speaking in class.

 

VI. Grading Procedures

 

1.  Students should expect at least one grade each week and are advised to keep a list of all their graded assignments.

             2.  Student grades are based on tests, quizzes, projects, and homework,

        3.  Students will receive letter grades based on their percent. Please refer to the grading section in your Student Handbook.

4.  Students will keep all graded tests and quizzes in the classroom.

5.  Students may be exempt from their final exam. Please refer to "Renaissance" in your Student Handbook.

1.  To give each student a better appreciation of mathematics.

2.  To work with each student by being available to give time needed to get missed assignments and to understand concepts. 

3.  To provide each student with the best opportunities for success in this math course, in school, and in their future.

CLASSROOM CONSEQUENCES



The student will first be reminded of the appropriate class behavior. Subsequent actions will require detention. Detention may be either held with me or with the office. Please refer to "Discipline" in your Student Handbook.
